POOL SIDE - Planting begun 1995
            The
main change here has been ergonomic, the terracotta tiled surround
was sandblasted to give better grip underfoot during the winter
of 1998.  This has made life so much easier, especially when
you're trying to work during the rainy springtime.  The
              rocks
to the lefthand side of the pool are subject to their own section.
The planting between the wisteria covered
terrace - which runs off the
dining room of the house - were the first to go in.  This has
been tweeked a little over the years and is now due for a major
revamp to reflect the current usage of the house.  The planting
to the end and side of the pool consist mainly of large terracotta
pots filled with large Datura (Brugmansia), Bougainvillea and other
exotics for a summer show.  The Trachycarpus fortunei has been
in since spring 95 with and has happily flowered every year.
The Echiums to the side, behind the bank of assorted lavender have
              been a great hit.
